Alda Hotel Reykjavik does not provide airport transfer but there are airport shuttles running from the international airport coordinated with every flight. You can easily buy the bus ticket at the airport when you arrive and they will drop you off at a nearby location, Hlemmur bus stop no. 10 (located also on Laugavegur), 300 meters from the hotel. The bus transfer cost varies from 2400 ISK to 3300 ISK.
If you wish you can also book the transfer online through, www.airportdirect.is and/or www.airportexpress.is.
If you need a private transfer between Alda Hotel Reykjavik and Keflavik International Airport contact us via email, email@example.com, state your time preference and flight number and we will reserve it for you. The price for a small vehicle is approx. 120-150 euro, one way.
The hotel is located on Reykjavik’s main shopping street, Laugavegur, within walking distance of restaurants, cafés, boutiques, shops, clubs and museums, basically everything a capital downtown have to offer. We are about 15 minutes walk from town center, so quite far away from the main clubbing, which can be busy during the weekends, so the nights tend not to be too noisy.
Check in is at 14:00.
Early check in
Early check in depends on the availability in the hotel at any given time. We do our very best to check in earlier but since check out time isn’t until 12:00 we can’t promise anything in advance. In case we are not able to check you in earlier our lounge area has many cozy sofas you can relax while waiting and we can store your luggage in our luggage room. If you would like to secure an early check-in we recommend to book and pay for an additional night before the arrival date.
Check out is at 12:00.
Late check out
Late check out depends on the availability in the hotel at any given time. If possible we can offer you a late check-out free of charge until 13:00, at the latest. In case late check out isn’t possible our lounge area has many cozy sofas where you can relax while waiting and we can store your luggage in our luggage room. If you would like to secure a later check-out than 13:00 an additional night is charged.
The hotel does not have specific parking spaces. There are public parking lots in front of the hotel and in the neighbouring area. They have the following paying hours:

Keep an eye out for the parking zones; P1 and P2. P1 is the most expensive and charges 275 ISK per hour. P1 parking spaces are located on the main street, Laugavegur, but you’ll find the P2 zones on the side streets out from Laugavegur, charging 150 ISK per hour.
You pay and display and if you want to sleep in you can pay more the day before and it will start counting from the beginning of charging time the morning after.
There is also a parking garage 200m east of the hotel that you can use, at Laugavegur 94. The first hour costs 80 ISK and the following hours 50 ISK. It is open from 07:00-00:00 daily, but you are still able to keep your car inside overnight.
We serve breakfast daily between 07:00 and 10:00. It is a breakfast buffet that offers hot and cold choices; eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, cereals, breads, many different toppings, skyr (Icelandic yogurt), smoked salmon, fruits and more. In case you have any special diet requests do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our very best meeting your requests. The breakfast costs 2500 ISK.
If you have an early flight we offer “grab and go” bags. They include a sandwich, skyr (Icelandic yogurt), muesli bar, juice and coffee or tea. Please contact the reception the day before departure to place an order for the “grab and go” bag. The “grab and go” bag costs 2500 ISK but if breakfast is already included in the reservation there is no surcharge.
The hotel has a luggage storage available for guests. If you need to store your bags over a longer period please feel free to contact reception for further information, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Booking tours / concierge
The hotel has a concierge desk open daily between 16:00 and 21:00. Our reception staff is also very knowledgeable and can help you with everything regarding day tours from Reykjavik. There are a lot of day tour brochures in the lobby and if you wish to book a tour the reception staff can do it for you. You can also pay the tours directly with the hotel with no extra charge. Our hotel phones
Instead of stationary phones in hotel rooms, we offer our guests an Android operated smartphone. All local calls are included as well as the 4G data. You are welcome to take the phone out of the hotel during your stay and use it to your advantages.There are some useful apps in the phone, you can use it to navigate, find restaurants close to your current location or even book day tours.
Fitness room facilities
On the ground floor there is a small fitness room with a sauna and an outside hot tub . Open daily from 06:00 to 22:00 and is free of charge for all hotel guests.

All rooms provide; bathrobes, shampoo, body lotion, walk-in shower, conditioner, coffee/tea facilities, safe, flat screen TV and a smart phone.
Closest Grocery store and opening hours
Bónus, an Icelandic low budget supermarket, is only 100 meters walk from the hotel. Go out of the hotel, across the street and turn left and walk 100 meters. These are their usual opening hours:
10-11 is a smaller supermarket which is opened 24/7. It is located on the parallel street and is 200 meters walking distance. Go out of the hotel turn right, turn left at the next crossroads and you’ll find it one block away on the corner of Laugavegur and Hverfisgata.
Barber Bar is located on the ground floor open daily from 14:00. They offer Happy Hour between 16:00 and 19:00 daily, which offers better priced beverages.
Our reception staff can help you with restaurant reservations and will be happy to recommend their favorite ones. There are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.
